NUCORT M 4MG Tablet is a combination medicine containing Methylprednisolone (a corticosteroid) and Montelukast (a leukotriene receptor antagonist). This formulation is primarily used to manage asthma, allergic rhinitis, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), and other inflammatory or allergic conditions affecting the respiratory system. It helps in controlling both the inflammatory process and allergic responses, making breathing easier and reducing the frequency of asthma attacks or allergic flare-ups.

Methylprednisolone works by suppressing the immune system’s inflammatory response, thereby reducing swelling, redness, and allergic reactions. Montelukast blocks leukotrienes, which are chemicals in the body that cause allergy symptoms like airway constriction, mucus production, and inflammation.

The tablet is usually taken once daily, preferably in the evening or as prescribed by the doctor. It can be taken with or without food. This medicine is typically part of a long-term management plan and is not meant for immediate relief of acute asthma attacks.

Common side effects may include headache, nausea, abdominal discomfort, mood changes, and insomnia. Long-term use of corticosteroids like methylprednisolone may lead to weakened immunity, weight gain, bone thinning, or elevated blood sugar levels, so medical supervision and regular monitoring are essential.
