NORGEST 5 MG Tablet contains Norethisterone, a synthetic form of progesterone designed to mimic its actions. It stabilizes and suppresses the growth of the uterine lining, helping manage menstrual disorders—such as heavy menstrual bleeding (menorrhagia), painful or irregular periods, PMS, and symptoms associated with endometriosis .

It is taken as prescribed, typically once daily, with or without food—ideally at the same time each day. Swallow the tablet whole with water; do not crush or chew . Depending on the condition being treated, dosing may be continued for a specific duration (e.g., 10 days for menstrual delay, or daily during a cycle for menstrual regulation) .

Common side effects include headache, nausea, dizziness, breast tenderness, vaginal spotting, abdominal cramps, and rarely hair loss . More serious reactions—such as jaundice, severe migraines, visual disturbances, signs of blood clots (leg swelling, chest pain)—should be reported to a doctor immediately
