NORMET Tablet combines Ofloxacin, a fluoroquinolone antibiotic that inhibits bacterial DNA replication, and Ornidazole, a nitroimidazole effective against anaerobic bacteria and protozoa . This synergistic partnership expands antimicrobial coverage and speeds recovery in conditions like gastrointestinal infections (including dysentery), urinary and genital tract infections, lung infections, and certain parasite-related illnesses .
The tablet is taken with food, usually once or twice daily based on the severity and type of infection, and should never be crushed or chewed . Dosage frequency depends on physician guidance; treatment typically runs for 7–10 days, continuing even if symptoms improve to prevent resistance .
